About our bed frames
For over 20 years, The Original Bed Co has been making beds, bed frames & other bedroom furniture which are durable, desirable and affordable. The bed frames we make are a homage to traditionally made beds.
We use as many traditional techniques as we can to ensure that our bed frames are well made and designed to last a long time. All of our bed frames come with a standard 5 year warranty so you can buy with confidence.
What is the difference between a bed frame and a divan?
Bed frames (or bedsteads) are an alternative to box springs or divans which are extremely popular around the world (especially in the UK). Bed frames have a number of advantages over divans but both types of beds have their place in the world.
A bed frame includes a head end, a foot end and something to connect these two together. Our bed frames include a frame onto which you can put a mattress as standard.
Divans are a platform (whether sprung or flat) onto which you can place your mattress. They do not include a headend or footend and are less ornate in their designs. But some divans do come with headends.

What sizes of bed frames do you make?
Most of our bed frames are available in single (90cm x 190cm), double (135cm x 190cm) and king (150cm x 200cm) sizes. Some beds are available in less common sizes such as small single (75cm x 190cm), small double (120cm x 190cm) and super king (180cm x 200cm).
Some of our bed frames are adapted for European sizes as well. These sizes include 90cm x 200cm, 140cm x 190cm, 140cm x 200cm, 160cm x 200cm. We can customise the size of your bed in certain models
What types of bed frames are there?
As a bed company, we manufacture bed frames in a number of designs and styles like four poster bed frames, low foot end beds, iron beds, metal bed frames, upholstered beds, wood beds or brass beds.
