Spanish style bedroom design…

Saturday, February 4th, 2012

Distinctive Spanish style interior design is all about rich colours, and a mixture of textures, accessories and room accents combined with outstanding craftsmanship. It exudes a feeling of timelessness and authenticity with comfort and conviviality deep at its heart.  For a true flavour of Spain the look within the bedroom should conjure thoughts of hospitality and familiarity along with a spirit of Old World artistry and romance.

Spanish bedroom furniture design incorporates a number of different looks ranging from the heavy wood carving features of traditional European craftsmen, to the simplified but nonetheless substantial look of Mission style furniture. Dark woods fit in well with most Spanish and Mediterranean themes whilst hardware is often intricately formed, but might also feature simple ornamentation with a hand-wrought appearance . Beds follow the same mould with heavy wooden bedsteads in dark wood styles creating a strong room focal point, whilst heavy iron bed designs with an antique style in dark finishes create an authentic feel, with or without a canopy and fabric drapery. Bedroom chairs in soft leather should have that particular well-worn persona to provide a comfy resting or reading area in the corner of the room.

Bring natural textures into the mix that includes both hard and soft, both man made and those of nature. Wood, leather, copper, iron, raffia, and woven cloth all fit the bill here, either in the form of accents or bed dressings. Plants are a part of the natural environment, so add greenery to bring in a little of the outdoors that the Spanish so love. Rich damask tapestries, repetitive patterns, folk artistry and elaborate tapestries all have an important part to play. Even velvet and corduroy upholstery can be included to bring a feeling of distinction and luxury to the room scheme.

When it comes to colour selection, it really is important to do a little research in order to replicate the diverse range of shades that make up the Spanish décor norm. Colours range from the deep jewel historic shades of reds, greens and purples, to the lighter fresher pastel shades found on farms and ranches. Brightly coloured hand painted pottery and dark wood accents help to impart the bedroom with a casual, friendly feel, whilst splashes of red, yellow, orange and rust in the form of bed throws for that traditional wooden bed and upholstery or scatter pillows, add touches of sunlight to the room.

Accessories set the stage for Spanish style in bedrooms, with wood framed mirrors, traditionally styled lamps and woven textiles bringing colour and visual interest into the room space. Even modern Spanish style with its cleaner lines and broader use of colour, often incorporates traditional ironwork designs, wooden beams and heavy drapery fabric for a touch of luxury within a more contemporary setting. Paintings and wall hangings of the local countryside and historic themes complete the look, with the soft glow of antique brass, aged silver and rust-coloured metal, all lending a flavour of Old Spain.

White, Black and Red bedroom moods…

Saturday, February 4th, 2012

There are times when decorating with a limited colour palette prompts you to discover subtle design differences and solutions. The black, red and white colour trio actually works very well with a diverse range of décor styles. In the bedroom the three colours can create a contemporary minimalist feel, but when used creatively they can also make for a bohemian modern, Chinese, French country or even gothic look.

Start your white, black and red room scheme by removing clutter from bedroom surfaces. This colour ensemble needs the chance to shine through within any bedroom scheme. Sell or recycle any unwanted items and figure out creative methods for storing the remainder such as closet shelving, cabinets or under bed storage solutions. Establish a routine for processing the daily influx of detritus such as laundry, paperwork and any work related items.

Explore the colour shade and texture options. In these days of designer paint shades and faux finishes, white can mean anything from a glossy blue-based white to a distressed antique whitewash revealing a darker colour underneath. Likewise black might come in the form of the shiny lacquer finish found in Chinese décor or the soft poppy seed hue typical in French country farmhouses.

Reds might have an orange base for a warmer and brassier flavour or an underlying blue base for a moodier, deeper look. You might like to paint all four walls one shade or experiment with an accent wall in red or black, whilst painting the ceiling a moody red or soft black will give the room a cosy feel…perfect for the bedroom.

Track down a focal point piece of furniture. For many people the focal point of bedroom design will be the bed which along with your choice of bedding will set the tone for the room style. An antique traditionally styled iron bed frame with distressed white finish or ivory finish will set the tone, whilst a boxlike bedframe in black wood or metal has contemporary cool. Contemporary or traditional four poster beds will also work well here whilst a panel design wooden bed in dark wood finish will inject a flavour of timelessness. For anyone who enjoys gothic or bohemian style an ornately engraved headboard with red or black accents provides visual pop, and simple white or antique white bedding works well for most of these sleeping options.

Consider accent finishes. Wallpaper in bold black or white graphics or in classic scrolled patterns can add a splash of interest to the wall behind the modern or traditional bed. If you have a narrow wall within the room, dolling it up with wallpaper adds bohemian glam. Black and white wall murals with abstract patterns create a great room focal point, or you might want to take a more subdued approach with wall decals or a trim of painted graphics along the skirting boards.

And finally, accessorise creatively. Red bursts of accessory colour add visual intrigue to a predominately black and white room scheme and stainless steel or chrome lighting and fixtures and furniture hardware work well in this environment. A large mirror can add a modern edge, and frame it with a heavy engraved white or red frame if you want the look to be a little more funky. Stark white bedding gets high contrast with red throw pillows, or doll up a plain white dresser or bedside table with a black lacquer vase to display red roses or gerbera daisies for a modern twist.

Pinstripe bedroom themes

Saturday, January 28th, 2012

Black and white pinstripes need not be the sole preserve of the fashion industry. There’s far more versatility to this style than most people realise… Use black and white pinstripe themes in the bedroom for an original room style that is sophisticated or even a little eclectic. Use a pinstripe theme to create a room vibe that is different from the mainstream norm, yet is a relaxing space in which to chill out and recharge. Work around the pinstripes if you aren’t crazy about them but can’t change them. The neutral nature of black and white lends the look particularly suitable for the integration of a brighter accent colour or an array of colours that you wish to feature.

Hunt down black or white furniture or update existing pieces with a coat of paint and a little imagination. A focal point white or ivory wooden bed or iron bedstead design, will influence the room style as a whole whilst working in harmony with the pinstripe look. Incorporate black furniture and a contemporary or traditionally styled metal bed for a sophisticated feel with a more masculine edge, whilst furniture pieces with a piano black high gloss finish might turn the glamour thermostat up a further notch or two.

For a more colourful approach choose an upholstered headboard or have one upholstered in the fabric of your choice that picks up on or repeats other fabric accents within the room. Red or purple tones will work well here as a dynamic contrast to the black/white pinstripe theme, whilst warm wood tones can bring a welcoming touch to the room and will also harmonise with more eclectic room schemes.

Incorporate pinstripes elsewhere in the room, such as in the bed valance or in the form of a few throw cushions, to unite the décor. Use solid white, black or coloured bed linens, curtains and duvet or a bed throw, whilst other black and white patterns can also work if chosen with care, such as large floral patterns or a white comforter with black polka dots or hearts.

Hang artwork, pictures, or mirrors on the wall to break up the stripy theme and add visual interest. Monochrome photographs in  black or white, or perhaps a chrome frame will tie in with the backdrop, while more colourful alternatives will introduce some verve and brighten the wall space. Usethese visual messages to convey any theme that you might be trying to convey, be that a fashion theme or perhaps a Parisian flavour.

Accessorise with items that are functional or that you simply enjoy, or maybe have sentimental memories. Small bursts of colour, hints of black and white pinstripes or solid black or white accents are all at home here depending on personal taste and preference. A bedside table lamp with a pinstripe shade, black knobs on a white dresser, or black storage boxes on white shelves are just a few examples of how to play up the colour scheme. Red roses, real or artificial, in a black vase or a zany purple area rug will introduce welcome splashes of colour thatcatch the eye and stimulate the senses…

The perfect Italian bedroom scheme…

Saturday, January 28th, 2012

The warmth, romance, and sophistication of Italian design, has a beguiling appeal. For those wishing to recreate memories of an unforgettable visit to Tuscany or simply dream of sun-kissed villas and rolling vineyards, the Italian style delivers a wonderful alternative to mainstream bedroom design as it creates a sense of timeless beauty that is unlike anything else. Italian style is hard to pin down, unapologetically borrowing all the best elements of its European and Mediterranean neighbours, and yet two things are a given; warm vibrant colours and impeccable attention to craftsmanship. Keep these attributes in mind, and we are well on our way to creating the Italian bedroom of our dreams…

Start from the ground up and consider the flooring. Wall to wall carpets might be warm and comfortable but they are not in keeping with Italian style. Marble, parquet or terracotta tiles are nearer the mark although arguably perhaps too cold for the average bedroom scheme. A nice compromise is bare hardwood floors with area rugs that are in keeping with the Tuscan theme featuring rich warm hues and appealing textures.

The colour choice here should extend to the bedding so colour your world Italian style based on warm earthy tones that shout Italian country villa. Burnt reds, vibrant ochres, and delicious eggplant shades are perfect for bed throws and accent cushions and bolsters. Hang rich tapestry drapes around the windows and banish white walls, instead ragging them to replicate the look of old plaster. Roll on a warm hue, then apply a deeper shade over the top to give the illusion of texture.

For best effect, mix and match the room furniture, as most Italian rooms evolve over time with an eclectic range of furniture that nevertheless works in harmony. So consider pairing an imposing wooden bedstead with metal furniture pieces and a shabby leather armchair, or alternatively an iron bed, traditionally styled with antique brass features, with a medley of wooden furniture that offers a pleasing counterpoint of materials. Art deco style lamps might work well with an 18th century vanity table and so on and so forth, but whatever the eventual mix, avoid the temptation to buy a matched set. If you already own one, mix things up a bit by moving certain pieces into different rooms.

Accessorise artfully. Italians pride themselves on their quality artisans, and their decorating features everyday items that have been crafted with great care. Hang majolica plates on the wall above the dresser and place a copper pot full of fragrant rosemary on the bedside table next to the traditional bedstead. Display silver candle sticks in front of a jaded thrift store mirror featuring a wrought iron frame.

Increase the romantic temperature with pink tinged light bulbs and flickering candles and drape a cushy mohair throw over a supple leather armchair or as a runner at the foot of the bed. That well-loved ,lived-in look is essential for the authentic Italian bedroom flavour, so keep things distressed, aged and even a little shabby around the edges for charming and timeless Italian style that is warm and inviting through and through…

More Hippie Bedroom themes

Saturday, January 28th, 2012

Long after the end of the 1960s and the heyday of the hippie movement there are still many trends and elements from that decade that remain relevant and inspiring. In fact aspects of hippie culture and fashion have never really left us at all and it is still to be found on the catwalk, in the form of fashion accessories and colours and motifs that are still instantly recognisable. The fact that many hippie inspired elements are available off the shelf, means that it is even easier to recreate room themes with the minimum of fuss or effort. Take these sixties accents and build them into a bedroom theme for a son, daughter or for a zany adult room scheme and add a little individuality by doing your own thing in the form of artwork and accessories…true to the hippie spirit of free thinking!

Start off by making a list of what you love about the 60s. Is it the music, the freedom, the psychedelic art or a combination of the era and culture as a whole? Decide which aspects have the most relevance and meaning and collect some posters and memorabilia that reflect your interests. These might be reproductions of band posters for The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, or The Grateful Dead or inspirational posters with quotes from martin Luther King. If you are aiming for a psychedelic look (and who wouldn’t be?!) find posters of artwork with surrealistic images in lurid colours. You might also wish to incorporate reproductions of magazine and newspaper covers within the room design.

Many of the elements of the hippie look are easy to create yourself. Paint the walls or an accent wall a bright orange or deep purple. It’s easy to feature geometric shapes as well or a large peace sign, and remember that any imperfections are all in keeping, indicating that the painting was done by hand. Hang colourful scarves on the doors and tapestries on the walls. Include a few strands of beads and macramé planters to complete the look, and hunt through thrift stores for vintage items that are in tune with the overall theme.

Retro furniture styles will provide authenticity as well as practicality. Chromes, plastics and simple wooden pieces will complement the look with a simple low-rise metal bed or platform style wooden bed both looking at home here. At its very simplest, the sleeping solution of the hippie 60s might have been no more than a mattress on the floor with a few scatter cushions and a colourful throw, although for comfort and practicality a minimalist modern bedstead might be the best solution for hippie style in the 21st century.

Hippie room designs were all about over the top colours and aromas and sounds that stirred the senses. Psychedelic lighting and groovy colours were what it was all about, and the ubiquitous lava lamp would have been a staple ingredient of any hippie pad. Include also small decorator lamps covered with beads and exotic patterns for a funky effect and use red and blue bulbs to heighten the mood. The hippie aesthetic is not only visual, so create a full sensory experience by  appealing to the senses of touch, sound and smell as well. Hang a beaded curtain inside your bedroom door so that you can feel as well as hear the transition into your private bedroom space. Use furry covers for your pillows and scatter fuzzy cushions on the floor to create comfortable lounging areas. Incense sticks and clusters of candles complete the mood for true bohemian sixties cool…

Luxury Hotel and spa bedroom themes

Opus Wooden Bedstead from Original Bedstead.

Opus Wooden Bedstead from Original Bedstead.

Travel junkies or weekend break aficionados with a penchant for the better things in life have always been able to soak up the experience of luxury hotel living as long as they are able to afford the price tag that accompanies a touch of pampering and lazy spa time…

But these days, thanks to the “hotel chic” school of design, there’s no reason why everyone can’t experience a touch of luxury hotel glamour in their home, particularly within the bedroom, which benefits relatively easily from a few makeover touches to transform mainstream mundane into something a whole lot more glamorous with just a few clever touches. Whether your preference is for a minimalist contemporary feel or something a little more traditional in nature, indulging in the sophistication and relaxation of high end spa-inspired living, need be no more than a few simple steps away.

Start by choosing a colour and design theme and opt for a maximum of three colours to avoid sensory overload. For minimalist modern schemes stick with plain fabrics in a range of coordinating colours of the same toneand add an accent colour to the bedding accessories. A more traditional approach or French chateau inspired scheme might call for a mixture of patterns and plains, possibly floral style or cricket stripe for a preppy English country house flavour. A trawl through the internet or home interiors publications is bound to flag up a whole host of ideas, or you may even have a picture of a favourite hotel room décor scheme in mind from which you can draw inspiration…

Choose fabrics, high thread count sheets and bedding to establish a comfortable and luxurious benchmark for your bedroom creation. Playing with texture is the perfect way forward when creating hotel chic but so often the area of the bedroom that gets overlooked. Velvet, satin, faux fur, and brocade are all good options, with embroidery, pleats and quilting accents in more traditional environments. Ramp up the theme with plump pillows, a plush comforter and the best sheets that you can afford and bring the complete ensemble together with a fabulous modern bed or traditional wooden bedstead or metal bed design, to inspire the feel of the room as a whole. A French inspired lit bateau style wooden bed will always look fabulous in a glamorous traditional setting, whilst for unashamed romance a Victorian inspired antique Brass bedstead will never fail to delight.

More contemporary room themes could feature a quality divan set with a tall wall mounted headboard in fabric that matches or at least echoes accent or base fabrics within the bedding and bedding accessories. Most modern hotel décor themes follow this trend and it’s a particularly easy straightforward scheme to apply to your own makeover with relatively little outlay. But whatever your eventual choice, don’t skimp on the quality of the bed, bedding and pillows as money invested here will pay dividends for years to come. Likewise, take care when arranging pillows and decorative cushions. Symmetrical arrangements are preferable and a couple of rows in descending height is good so that each pillow or cushion is visible. Complete the look with a plush floral runner with fringe details at the base of the bed to cover the quilt and drape the sides, with a plainer version for more contemporary bedrooms that picks out the colours of the room for a sophisticated flavour that grounds the theme and draws the eye…

Quick thoughts on Antique Vintage Décor…

Paisley Wooden Bedstead from Original Bedstead.

One of the easiest ways of injecting instant charm into the home is by incorporating some vintage antique elements or accessories that evoke the mood of yesteryear. Repurpose vintage pieces, whether they are heirlooms or antique market finds into creative home décor for a one-of-a kind look. Dust off those old attic treasures and give them a new lease of life in appropriate surroundings where they can work in harmony with more modern features with a little care and placement sympathy. Use the style to update just a single room such as a master bedroom or a kitchen, or even your entire home for a continuous feel.

Paint the chosen room’s walls a vintage inspired hue such as mauve, dusky purple, mint green, soft apricot, cream, sage green or light blue. Create a more vibrant look with sapphire blue, emerald green, ruby red or other jewel tones as the perfect backdrop to inspired furniture and accessory selections.

Bring antique or reproduction furniture into the mix to enhance the theme and provide inspiration for the room as a whole. Within the bedroom a fainting couch or elegant high backed wing chair featuring dark cherry wood and leather upholstery is sure to appeal, whilst a traditional lit bateau style wooden bedstead or iron bed design with bold antique brass detailing will set the vintage mood. An old wood or wicker vanity table will work here also and choose other wooden or metal bedside tables and ancillary pieces of furniture that establish the timeless feel of the room space.

Work vintage textiles into the design and add warmth to a couch or love seat with a crocheted throw blanket and matching decorative pillows. Hang vintage lace curtains at the window for a Victorian flavour and decorate that traditional bed with a patchwork quilt featuring floral patterns or a delft design and scatter with a pile of cushions for a feeling of extra warmth and comfort.

Old oak bible boxes or deeds boxes or an old coffer make great storage solutions for magazines, books, remote controls, and more besides, whilst a few rustic wall sconces won’t look out of place for some church or pillar candles to cast a mellow  romantic glow whenever the occasion demands…

More thoughts on Animal Print bedroom style…

Friday, January 6th, 2012

Animal print lends itself particularly well to tropical themes. Not too much of a surprise there then, but it doesn’t have to be that way…in fact far from it. For with a little imagination and verve it’s possible to create an animal print bedroom design that is extremely modern and stylish. Animal prints are enjoying something of a revival at the moment, so seize the concept and transform any room with the clever use of fabrics and accessories. For it is a classy and sophisticated design element that is versatile and timeless making it the perfect accessory for luxurious bedroom styling..Back in the age of the golden screen, Hollywood had not been slow to embrace the Art Deco appeal of animal print, and it was the warm browns, tans, gold’s and black and white contrast that actually brought a more metropolitan and ethereal element to bedroom design. The natural andinviting decorative element contained within animal print allows it to be used within many motifs and tropical décor doesn’t even need to come into the design brief. In fact animal prints tend to compliment many conservative bedroom styles, the earthy and natural colour palette working well with any number of elegant room settings.

For many, animal print might conjure images that are overly ostentatious and dramatic, but think again. For animal print is a contemporary motif that has been around for decades. Hollywood first used the animal pattern to decorate homes of the rich and famous and the style soon found its way into luxury hotels and beyond. There is something inherently appealing about the textures and earthy natural qualities of the design that makes you want to curl up in your bedroom space for a long night of warmth and comfort. Paired with an exotic wooden bed design in dark tones or perhaps a contemporary metal bedstead, the effect is maximised. Contemporary chrome beds lend themselves particularly relevant here in true Hollywood fashion as an imposing and stylish statement from which the room style as a whole might draw inspiration. Chrome was a key ingredient of the Art deco revival years and is still just as effective today in contemporary settings. Animal print bed throws, pillows, cushions, drapery or upholstered chairs and love seats all bring those essential accents to the design mix. Key pieces will have more impact than a muddle of prints, but get the balance right and the effect can be extraordinary.

Simply put, animal print has the ability to excite the senses. It can be dramatic and inspirational without being overbearing. It looks sensational teamed up with dark wood furniture, lighter colours or that ravishing iron bed design. Versatile and extremely flexible it is the perfect partner to solid coloured comforters in black, beige, gold or mocha hues with zebra prints looking particularly impressive when married with black or off-white furniture just as leopard prints blaze when chocolate brown furniture or a lavish lit bateaux style wooden bedstead provides the backdrop. Try them both also with crimson or bright red accessories within the mix. Fabulous!

Arabian style bedrooms…

Capture the essence of Morocco and the Mediterranean regions with Arabian style decorating for a classy, intriguing bedroom theme. This is not an understated or shy and retiring style, but rather one that that grabs your attention as soon as you walk into the room with bright colours and bold designs. In fact these elements are the staple ingredient of such a room scheme, and is perfect for anyone in search of an extrovert décor theme that has a touch ofglamour. Vibrantly coloured pottery filled with lush plants, ornamental gilt framed mirrors, silver framed photographs and pictures, and the definitive incense burner, all have a part to play in the Arabian themed bedroom.

Colour will always set the mood here, and bold pinks, purples, blues, emerald greens, yellows, rich reds, and terra cotta floors are always going to be right on the mark. These colours appear everywhere in Arabian style architecture and blue is particularly popular as a wall colour because of the influence of the Mediterranean Sea and the oceans. A mix of some or all of these colours can work well if tackled sympathetically, as a vibrant medley and a visual treat. Use them generously to capture the mood on the walls and furniture for total authenticity.

Likewise consider using decorative stencilling on items such as wardrobes, wooden trunks, trinket boxes, dressers, or a wooden bed. Much of Arabian décor embraces geometric shapes, but it’s actually a lot more diverse than that. Apply your choice of design to areas such as above the door, around a window seat, or around the top of the walls. Some internet or interior design publications are bound to yield plenty of decor ideas for your stencil artwork and are sure to result in some pleasing accents that establish the theme.

Ensure that the bed becomes the room focal point by adorning it with lavish silk bedding and a canopy style throw in rich colours. A bedspread featuring large blocks of colour is another great way to introduce the colour mixes so typically associated with Arabian décor and for the bed itself you might choose to opt for an ornate wooden painted design or a traditional iron bed that captures the essence of the Arabian culture. Wrought iron metal bed styles would look great here with swoops and curves for a romantic feel. Darker textured finishes will offer an appealing counterpoint with softer fabrics for nights of dreamy slumber.

Complement the bed statement with piles of decorative pillows for extra comfort and yet more colourintrigue. Vary the colour mix, shapes and patterns for an eclectic feel with fabrics that include brocades, linen, wool and velvet as well as decorative fringes and beading.

As a final room touch, mosaics are always certain to be a sure –fire hit in the form of pottery or bedside table tops and dresser surfaces. Team them up with some Arabian style accessories such as gold ornamental pieces, candle stands, ornamental mosaic framed mirrors and lots of assorted candle clusters. Rug and pillow corners are another great idea when the time comes to relax and unwind with thick oriental rugs and a mountain of pillows for an inviting flavour. Include a small low rise wooden painted or mosaic topped table…just perfect for magazines and books or a glass of chill-time wine…!

Egyptian themed bedroom schemes…

Saturday, December 24th, 2011

Beds Mattresses Linens

For a totally different bedroom theme that exudes an air of mystery and intrigue, why not capture a flavour of the East with a distinctive Egyptian inspired room makeover that defies mainstream convention? The look is both luxurious and comfortable with an elegant air that that encourages rest and relaxation. Whether you are working on a tight budget and wish to incorporate a few Egyptian accents, or perhaps have a larger costlier project in mind, the look is perfect for do-it-yourself decorators with a bit of artistic talent who like to personalise their homes with décor that reflects their own style and flair…

Wall design always makes a great start point for any such project, so think of the wall space as a canvas for an Egyptian landscape. If you are a talented painter or can enlist the services of one, sketch and paint a mural of ancient Egyptian pyramids with blue sky accents. Hardwood floors will also set the scene and ideally they should be polished and shiny to the point of sparkling. Add a few luxurious throw rugs to the floor to add warmth and elegance to the room setting, and err towards tapestry style plush rugs that evoke a taste of decadence in rich reds, deep greens, soft golds and vibrant blues that are true to the spirit of ancient Egyptian culture.

If your choice is for carpet, select a style that mimics sand. Light gold berber designs or sisal are suitable choices and once the carpet is laid, scatter a few inexpensive woven straw mats about the room along with some plush plump scatter cushions for a touch of Egyptian flair.

An opulent, luxurious wooden or iron bed should take centre stage within the room space. Ornately carved wooden bed creations are totally in keeping with the theme here or choose a metal bed with a design that evokes the definitive style of Egyptian décor. A good trawl through the internet and Interiors magazines should provide plenty of inspiration here, but whatever your eventual selection, make sure that it is dressed with the most lavish linens and bedspreads that you can afford. A gold brocade bedspread or duvet cover and gold satin sheets will set the scene, and complete the theme with plush pillows in deep crimsons, vibrant purples or deep bottle greens.

For a further splash of luxury drape a sheer gold canopy from the ceiling to envelop the traditional bed and echo the style with window treatments that are also sheer and flowing to catch the summer breezes. Sheer cream or golden hued simple fabric panels will do the job well and include gold braided cording and tassels as elegant tie-backs.

Dressers, chests of drawers and bureaus in natural wood finishes or with gold accents, will ensure an appealing counterpoint with the bed design, and if budgets and space permits, include a chaises longue within the room as an area for extra comfort and relaxation. Drape it with a luxurious crimson or teal chenille throw-over, and scatter for extra comfort with bolster pillows that feature jewelled border decoration.

For a final Eastern flourish, accent the walls with gold framed portraits of ancient pharaohs and Egyptian queens and adorn bedside tables and dressers with vibrant shaded lamps and reproduction Egyptian statuary for a room theme that promises much with glamorous, intriguing appeal…
